It is summer break, classes our out, yet there is still heavy traffic on the metro.
Sigh, I thought traffic would ease out, but it is only worse.
Worsen by all the road "repairs" project of the government.

There's a saying, "If ain't broke, don't fix it".
There was a govt official who said to bear with the inconvenience and that there will be better roads after the repairs. But I doubt it.  There are some parts of the city wherein the road "repairs" are already done, and it ain't are better roads.

While some road works had the old asphalt or pavement scrape the top layer, other works has the old roads totally "removed". Notice though, that  for every road repair it will result on a more elevated road, usually higher than the gutters and center islands. As a result it is more of a road safety concern when we should have safer roads after the road works. Certainly are not better roads.

Can't they at least have a standard to follow? It is only common sense that the new roads should be at level with the "old" road. The new roads should not level off with the center islands or side gutters and side walks, or worse too elevated that the side of the roads has created a deep "canal" prone for accidents and vehicles to "fall" off the side of the roads.

Most of our roads do need repairs, however, I cannot fathom how they would prioritize which areas to repair since some of the roads are still fairly good yet road "repairs" are undertaken while there areas that really needs to be repaired, yet it is untouched by any road repairs team.

Indeed, some of the new roads are better, however most of those are not. Before the repairs were undertaken we have bumpy roads and uneven road surface because of road patches and potholes. Now, after the "repairs", we still have uneven roads. Uneven because the workmanship is not consistent, the other lane is slightly elevated than the other or the road surface itself is just not even.
Riding a boat, a ferry or a fast craft over calm waters has a smoother ride experience as compared to 4 wheels over the new roads.

It is good though, that they are improving our road networks, widening and rehabilitating the roads and improving our overall transportation. Wish they could also consider adding bicycle lanes on their next projects to accommodate alternative forms of transport.
